Welcome to the AEF Journal

This is where we'll write things down. Festival selections and screening dates, notes from the cutting room, the occasional longer piece about why a film exists at all — all of it will live here rather than scattered across feeds that disappear by morning.

Why a journal

A film carries a lot that never makes the final cut: the location that fell through, the scene rewritten at 3am, the face you cast because of one audition tape. We started AEF in 2022, between Rome and London, to make work that takes its time. It felt right to keep a record in the same spirit.

The most personal is the most creative.

Expect announcements when there's something concrete to announce, and field notes the rest of the time.
